Meet Workers and Supplies

The following list details the number of  workers needed at your team's swim meets (different requirements listed for home vs. away).  Also provided is a list of the supplies you will need to have on hand at your team's swim meets.

HOME SWIM MEET WORKERS AND SUPPLIES
 

A.                 Workers needed each session:

a.       Referee – must be WCSL certified

b.      Starter – must be WCSL certified

c.       2 Stroke and Turn judges - must be WCSL certified (visiting team provides 2 also)

d.      1 Head timer

e.       9 timers (visiting team provides 9 also)

f.        2 scorers (visiting team provides 2 also)

g.       2 recorders/ribbons persons at scoring table (visiting team provides 1-2 also)

h.       4-5 runners

i.         1 Heat ribbon person

j.        2 servers (hospitality workers)

k.       Clerk of course (minimum of two, preferably three people)

 

B.                 Supplies

a.       15 clipboards

b.      12 stopwatches (visiting team provides it own)

c.       DQ slips

d.       Relay take-off slips

e.       20 event sheets (listing of order of events)

f.        Head timer paddle

g.       All ribbons, including Heat Winner and High Point Swimmer

h.       Whistle for Starter

i.         Pencils

j.        Bullhorn and batteries (or other back-up starting device)

k.       WCSL Constitution and By-laws, USS Rule Book

l.         P.A. System (Starter system)

 

C.              Supplies needed for workers:

a.       Referee – clipboard, event sheet, pencil, whistle, DQ slips and rule book

b.      Starter – clipboard, event sheet, pencil, starting device and small table

c.       Stroke and Turn judges – clipboard, event sheet, pencil, DQ slips

d.      All Stroke and Turn judges – same

e.       Head timer – 2-4 stopwatches, head timer paddle

f.        18 timers (3 per lane) – each needs clipboard, event sheet, pencil, stopwatch

g.       Clerk of Course – clipboard, event sheet, event cards, pencils, team rosters from both teams, paper clips  or envelopes to keep cards from each event together, table if possible

i.         Recorders/ribbons persons – place ribbons, pens, labels for back of ribbons if possible

j.        4-5 runners – no supplies needed

k.       Heat Ribbon person – heat ribbons
