Championship Meet for each swimmer begins as they and their parents arrive at the ISC Complex in time for warm ups. Warm ups will start 1 hour before the meet starts.
There is plenty of parking available and parents are strongly reminded not to park on Heritage Way. You will be cited and towed by the City of Brentwood.
First, you must purchase a heat sheet booklet which will be sold at the main entrance. You may purchase a complete set of all the sessions if you have many swimmers or just a single session booklet. Many times 2-3 families will share a heat sheet booklet. You must purchase the heat sheets to know what and when your swimmer is swimming and to follow what's going on. The meet is too large for your coach to post this information.
Next, you must locate your coach and team mates. Some teams will have tents erected outside while other coaches will have the swimmers meet them on deck for warm ups. Check with your coach before the meet to find out where you are to report. Check in with your coach and confirm what events your swimmer will be swimming as well as what (if any) relays he/she will be on. Mark your swimmers arm with the Sharpie you brought and leave your swimmer in your coaches capable hands.
If you as a parent are working a volunteer position, go to the lobby of the ISC and check in at the Volunteer Check In table. You will be given instructions about where and when to report.
If you have purchased a t-shirt, you can pick it up at the table at the ISC front door, next to Heat Sheet sales.
After warmups, your swimmer will usually come back to you, or the coaches may go ahead and take them to the Clerk of Course. The Clerk of Course is under the large white tents outside the pool area. The girls tent is visable from the front. The boys tent is in the back of the facility/north side. Parents are not allowed in the tent! The Clerk of Course workers will call out the events and heats and will line the swimmers up in chairs. Younger swimmers need to have their first and last names on their arm to help this process along. The Clerk of Course workers will take the swimmers to the blocks.
After your swimmer has been taken to Clerk of Course, go inside and cheer them on. You may not stand behind the area where the timers are located. Meet your swimmer after their race with a smile and a "good job!" Take them back to Clerk of Course for their next race.
After the session is over, please stay and gather under the Girls Clerk of Course tent for the announcement of the high point winners of that session. Other winners such as hospitality, scholarship and regular season team champions will be announced here as well.
